LINK - Internal & Cancer Control
Locating & Integrating Needs with Know-how

The Young Professionals is a committee within the American Cancer Society.  Our committee has its own fundraising activities and its own socials.  However, within the Young Professionals is a committee called LINK. LINK members connect the skills and assistance of the Young Professionals with the volunteer needs of the American Cancer Society and the community. Relay for Life,  Making Strides, and the Great American Smoke Out are a few events that the Young Professionals support with time, participation, and advertising.  Pictures of the Young Professionals at Relay for Life!  We also have opportunities to meet with lawmakers to help pass legislation (see Grass Roots below).

In addition to the events, LINK is also involved with training volunteers to become spokespersons to go into schools and educate the students about:

    1. The of the dangers of smoking
    2. Early detection of cancer
    3. Cancer prevention

Next Events:  Relay for Life at Mason High School on June 4th and 5th.  Contact Traci Combs (Contact info below)if you want to help volunteer or organize a team.

Check out information about External LINK

Furthermore, LINK will train volunteers to go into office settings and work with the employees who want to stop smoking.
